In terms of demonstrating the virtues of the Lightning Network, Norwegian bitcoiner Hodlonaut is the man of the hour. In less than a month, he convinced over 150 bitcoin community members to join a tipping game which involves sending an increasingly larger amount of satoshis over to a friend. It’s called the #LNtrustchain – and it’s one of the biggest and most memorable grassroots movements in the history of Bitcoin.
On February 5th 2019, the initiative received its first wave of mainstream attention thanks to the involvement of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. Then the torch got passed to Elizabeth Stark and Samson Mow, and momentarily it seems like the transactions just keep on happening between the boundaries of Lightning enthusiasts.
Nevertheless, there’s a lot of hope that the torch would reach celebrities. For instance, Canadian actor William Shatner (who is best known for playing the role of Captain Kirk in the original Star Trek series) has expressed his interest in the project. He is also known for tweeting about Ethereum in the past, so it’s likely that the 87 year-old will get involved.
I understand this!😳😱😝 https://t.co/WQEHqIjxJ4

However, as you’re about to discover in this exclusive interview, Hodlonaut has two celebrity idols whom he wishes to become recipients of the torch: Elon Musk and Joe Rogan. Some folks are already making substantial efforts to engage the Tesla and SpaceX entrepreneur, and the idea of having the best known podcaster in the world talk about the #LNtrustchain (and therefore promote the Lightning Network) is exactly what we need for mass adoption.
Who is this Hodlonaut and where does he come from? When did he get involved in Bitcoin? How many people have received the torch that he first passed on? How many satoshis have been accumulated? What is he trying to achieve and what will he be doing after the torch gimmick dissolves into a larger scale adoption of the Lightning Network? Is he the Laszlo Hanyecz (the famous bitcoin pizza buyer) of bitcoin? Find out the answers to these questions in Crypto Insider’s exclusive interview.
